It's 5:30AM and I am unreasonably wired. That's probably what spawned these three silly Usagi icons. I made these literally in twenty minutes altogether.

Rule of Rose, released in America through the Atlus company, is a story about a young woman named Jennifer who, along with her dog Brown, is captured by a gaggle of young orphans who make up a debauched hierarchy called the Red Crayon Aristocrats. Every month, the Aristocrats request a special gift; an offering. Fail to deliver and the consequences will be dire. While all of this is going on, you have to battle gaping imps and unravel Jennifer's sad past.
Get a taste for the game in these eleven icons.

Hollywood's first sexpot, the Brooklyn Bonfire, the "It" girl! You don't think such nicknames were pulled out of thin air and applied to today's sickly thin celebutants, do you? Nope. A long, long time ago, they were the qualifiers of a very special lady: silent film superstar Clara Bow. Though she was eventually rocked by scandal and mental illness (educate yourself), there was a brief moment when the whole world was enamoured with her. Her legacy perserveres to this day as she still has many fans, old and new.
Only two icons this time around, but I hope your interest has been piqued enough to learn more about this unsung beauty.

And that's not the end of it. Because Ms. Bow's 102nd birthday was this Sunday past, there's going to be a big batch post dedicated to her and fellow July twenty-ninther Elizabeth Short, better known as the Black Dahlia.
For those of you familiar with the Black Dahlia case, know that I absolutely will not be making grotesque icons of Ms. Short -- autopsy and crime scene photos or anything of the ilk -- so you can browse the batch safely. I wish only to represent these two lovely ladies in a respectful, reverent way.

Demetri Martin is a thirty-something comedian that hones some of the most unique and hilarious stand-up I've ever seen. He presents pie graphs, charts and projections to his audience while dryly delivering his unforgettable punchlines. Ultra clever.
Though there are dozens more, here are six of my favorite one liners from his Comedy Central special, "Demetri Martin. Person."

My Life in Blue has been one of my favorite webcomics since its inception in 2001. It handles issues such as homosexuality and transgendered youth in a beautiful, classy way while not sugarcoating the consequences of such lifestyles. There are also fun themes like mythology, period piece strips, English high society, "Titus Andronicus", imaginary crows and a cast of vivid, fascinating characters to go along with it. If you're still not convinced, at least check it out for the sake of uniquely gorgeous art by the uber talented tzarohell in the following nineteen icons and variations.

Really thinking on it, Drew Barrymore has classic princess looks: heavy-lidded eyes, blonde curls, fair skin and very soft features. Of course, being as spunky as she is, she's the perfect one to take on the role of the fierce, beautiful heroine. Thanks to Annie Leibovitz and Vogue magazine, Drew has the chance to fulfill that role in the following eleven icons.

The unsurpassed beauty that is Gong Li. She enchanted me in Curse of the Golden Flower. Even the previews of the film before it came out in theaters had me gravitating toward her. The role she played, that of Empress Phoenix, was regal and commanding and slightly deranged. Not only is she a magnificent actress, but she cannot take a bad picture!
Eight icons, one including her Memoirs of a Geisha co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi (who I am secretly seeing behind Ms. Li's back).

Nelvana's animated 1983 flop about rock and roll and humanoid animals (rats and cats specifically). You'd think a formula like that would be box office gold.
No, really, after seeing concept art and cruising fan sites, I got curious about the film and found a great torrent for it. I'm a sucker for obscure animation and this really hit the spot. I was especially drawn to Angel, the heroine of the film. I found her to be uniquely beautiful and couldn't help but take screencaptures to be used in icons.
I've gathered nine icons here, including variations.

These were done many months ago before I learned the art of textures and layering, so they will not be nearly as polished as future posts.
Still, I'm sure there's someone who will make use of these, so here they are~.
